Social, Environmental, and Climate Assessment (SECAP) Training, Nepal.
A four-day training on Social, Environmental, and Climate Assessment Procedures (SECAP) concluded successfully in Nagarkot, Nepal, on September 27, 2024. The training was organised by SUSTAIN, HELVETAS, IFAD, and VCB-N, the training brought together participants from Bhutan (BRECSA, Districts and CARLEP Project) and Nepal (ASDP, R-HVAP, and VITA projects)
The intensive training covered a wide range of topics, including:
* Introduction to SECAP
* Contextualization of the 9 SECAP standards
* Community of Practice
* Operationalizing SECAP in the project cycle
* Integrating SECAP requirements with national regulations
* Stakeholder engagement and grievance redress
* ESCMP development, operationalization, monitoring, and review
* SECAP and procurement
* SECAP monitoring and supervision by IFAD
Participants actively engaged in the learning process, demonstrating enthusiasm for implementing SECAP in their respective projects. The training provided valuable insights and tools to enhance the social, environmental, and climate performance of project in Bhutan and Nepal.
